“Rich music breathes in Summer’s every sound”

John Clare

Oxlip Wood in Summer

Wading through high herbage is one of the challenges of being in wild woodland during the height of summer.

Although there’s not much woodland management done during the summer months, the appearance of Ragwort requires some intervention, to stop it spreading.

On a still summer’s evening it’s a great pleasure to enjoy the sounds of the woodland and just take in the views over adjoining fields.
